For Susan Banks, serving the community is a family tradition that began three generations ago. Her grandparents were the originators, with her grandfather being born and raised in the town of Lone Oak and later serving as a council member. Her grandmother served as the town clerk for many years and both grandparents were extensively active within the community. Wanting to continue their legacy, she joined the council in 2011 and over the past eight years has contributed to the cohesiveness of Lone Oak’s charming population. When not attending to her council duties, one can find her spending time with her family or visiting the Betty Daniel Memorial playground that was built in honor of her grandmother. Susan believes that her grandmother would be proud of not only her grandkids but all of Lone Oak’s future generations.
